Teaching and learning mathematics has been considered a tough task. Children develop fear or love to mathematics in their young age. Therefore it is very important to expose them to the right learning approach so that they develop liking for it. In modern times, most of the analytical skills are heavily dependent on the understanding of mathematical skills that we acquire in school. They help the development of abstract understanding in higher education.
There are many innovative and remarkable attempts by teachers and educationists to include practical work, laboratory activities to support teaching and learning mathematics. There appears to be a need to bring all such efforts under a standard pedagogical form to be able to disseminate such tools and techniques in our schools.
The current project, Ganitgyan aims at making mathematics education engaging and entertaining by way of activity based teaching and by way of appropriate models either virtual or physical which give them an opportunity for self learning.
